Below are a few examples of Resolutions statements tailored to specific situations (i.e. single men, father and husbands).

Single Men

By the mercies of God, I WILL strive for sexual purity so that I present my body a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is my reasonable service.

I WILL wait on the LORD for my future wife and family, trusting that if marriage is His will for my life, He will bring her to me in due time as I seek to serve Him first and foremost.

I WILL be content in this season of single hood, knowing that His grace is sufficient and that He has a good plan for my life.

I WILL, should God show me the path to marriage, be faithful to the woman He provides, to love and honor her, and be willing to lay down my life for her as Jesus Christ did for me. If I am to remain unmarried, I will be faithful to the things of the Lord and how, without distraction, I may please and serve Him.

I WILL be willing to step out in faith and go beyond my comfort zone for Christ.

I WILL honor my Mother and Father, and pray for their growth in Christ.

I WILL be faithful to my future wife, to love and honor her, and be willing to lay down my life for her as Jesus Christ did for me.

I WILL give my life to Him daily as I recognize that it is only through His power that I can live a life that is honoring to Him.

I WILL pray that He continues to draw me closer to Him every day through His Word.

I WILL take a stand against anything that opposes His Word.

I WILL work to put other people before myself, and to put God’s desires for me above my own selfish want and desires.

I WILL expose and oppose evil, pursue justice, love and demonstrate God’s mercy.

 

Fathers (married/unmarried)

I DO solemnly resolve before God to take full responsibility for myself, my family and my daughter Anna.

I WILL love Nicholas, protect him, serve him, sacrifice for him and teach him the word of God as the spiritual leader of my home.

I WILL bless Victoria and teach her to love God with all of her heart, all of her mind and all of her strength and hold me accountable to do the same.

I WILL train my girls to honor authority, always do the right thing and live responsibility.

I WILL teach my son Michael to always keep God first, to disregard pride, addictions, lust for money and other worldly parasites that only generate regret.

I WILL bless my children with patience and care, guide them to know God with all their strength and help them gain wisdom from God.

Husbands (with/without children)

I DO solemnly resolve before God almighty to take full responsibility for myself, my wife, and any children – natural or adopted – which God may add to my life at some later time.

I WILL be faithful to my wife, to love and honor her sanctity, and be willing to lay down my life for her as Jesus Christ did for me.

I WILL resolve to live for what matters most, fighting the good fight, finishing the race with no regrets and keeping the faith.

I WILL be faithful to my wife,to love her, to honor her and to cherish her as the precious gift from God that she is.
